This unusual awning was designed from corrugated chicken wire windows retrieved from the Philadelphia Naval yard and reused with this unique application. Here in this lower Manhattan restoration of a commercial retail space, corrugated chicken wire windows were mounted on steel beams above the walkway. The canopy runs the full length of both sides of the corner retail space and has a curved corner. This is truly a great design with a modern feel that fits the retailers style, and a green use of salvaged glass.   |
